Through my art, I seek to simply represent the grace and conflict of our lives in the complex human world around us. David Hockney once said the purpose for an artist was “to make people see” and I subscribe to that notion. As we pass through our busy lives, we often look but do not see, hear but do not listen, eat and not savor, hold but not feel. My ambition is to make art that communicates the richness and texture of human life. I paint reality, or some form of it, using language that expressively conveys the emotions I experience and illusions I see.
